We are absolutely 100% focused on handling our fruit with the utmost of care to reduce bruising. So you, the customer, consistently get the best quality fruit, our strawberries & blueberries only ever receive the most gentle of handling; we pick, grade and pack our berries very, very carefully. Our berries are hand-picked and packed every day so you can get freshest produce possible under our brands mbc and GalaBerry.

About Us

Matakana Berry Co is one of the largest strawberry producers in New Zealand and the biggest commercial produce grower in Omaha Flats, North Auckland. We also grow blueberries.

We grow our strawberries & blueberries on the premium soils of Omaha flats on the edge of the sea by a natural estuary. Omaha’s high sunshine hours mean our berries are chock-full of sun ripened goodness you can really taste; juicy sunshine in a bite.

We love our strawberries and are very proud of our company and of our reputation as a premium berry grower with a name for superior-quality, delicious products. We grow environmentally sustainable strawberries with care and then pick them with pride.
